Jujutsu is the next generation of version control systems (VCS).
I remember when I switched from Subversion to git. It was a breath of fresh air to be able to completely operate a VCS locally without an Internet connection. Having used a number of proprietary sytems (Rational, CMVC) and even CVS, I am truly glad that the decentralized VCS model won.
However, git is complicated. Conceptually, it is hard to understand. git's command line interface is notoriously unintuitive.
git has entrenched itself as the VCS for practically all software projects worldwide. Perhaps the majority of software engineers today may only have experience with git.
Still, Jujutsu may have a chance at solving the complexity of git by reducing the number of operational concepts, re-thinking workflows, and providing a compatible upgrade path.
